Vasectomy is not immediately effective, despite its overall efficiency.
Use protection at least 8 weeks after your procedure. You will need to bring in a semen sample 8 weeks following your procedure to make sure there are no sperm present.
If you feel like children aren't for you, or your family is at a happy size, a vasectomy is a great choice to prevent further pregnancies.
Although vasectomies can be reversed with 60% to 80% pregnancy rate afterwards, you should consider vasectomy as a permanent form of birth control.
It is ideal that you take 2 to 3 days off following your procedure in order to heal up properly.
Standing up for long periods of time can hinder the healing process as there will be more swelling and discomfort. Do not do any heavy lifting 7 to 10 days afterwards.
Vasectomies at our clinic cost $700 and are usually covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Priority Health. All co-pays and deductibles must be paid 1 week in advance. If we do not participate with your insurance company, the entire fee is due a week before the service.
All insurance claims will be filed by our office.
